The languages of Bollywood and Bollywood-dominated Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are all spoken in Bollywood movies and television shows, which are marketed in English, Hindi and Tamil.
The Hindi language is also spoken in the country.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has launched a campaign to ban Hindi from TV channels.
According to the government, Hindi is “inherently degrading to the language, and we will take strict action against any person who misuses or misinterprets the language of our country”.
In 2017, a film titled The Big Bang, by the actor Salman Khan, was banned from the state after it was made in Tamil.
